Ruth Werner

Ruth Werner, BCTMB

Ruth Werner is Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (BCTMB), and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, the International Fascia Research Society, and the Alliance for Massage Therapy Education. She has written numerous articles for massage trade journals and several books on subjects ranging from ethics to pharmacology.

Ruth Werner is the author of the textbook, A Massage Therapist's Guide to Pathology, and writes a column for Massage and Bodywork Magazine called Pathology Perspectives.

Mel Cash

Mel Cash, BS, MISRM

Mel is recognized as one of the pioneers of massage over the last 25 years and has published several international textbooks on the subject. He has gained the most extensive clinical experience having worked with World class athletes and dancers (including the Royal Ballet in London and the Tokyo Ballet in Japan) as well as people with serious medical conditions.

He is a passionate and inspiring teacher who has also presented workshops Internationally. He used to compete at a high amateur level in Marathons and Triathlons. He has written a number of books including Sport & Remedial Massage Therapy and Advanced Remedial Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy and is regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities on the subject.

Felicia Brown

Felicia Brown, LMBT

Felicia Brown, LMBT is the owner of Spalutions!, ( a firm that provides business and marketing coaching and education for massage, spa, and wellness professionals. Felicia is passionate about inspiring others with her practice by sharing her knowledge and experiences. This practice of “cooperative competition” has been a cornerstone of Felicia's career ever since she became a massage therapist in 1994. She continues to apply this way of thinking in her coaching, writing, and teaching.

With appearances at many state, national and international conferences for the massage, spa, and wellness industries, Felicia has become a sought-after speaker and educator. She is the author of Free & Easy Ways to Promote Your Massage, Spa & Wellness Business: Volume 1 and Reflections of My Heart: A Poetic Journey of Love, Life, Heartbreak and Healing. She is also a contributing author to several other books. Additionally, Felicia has written for numerous trade publications including Les Nouvelles Esthetique & Spa, DAYSPA, Spa Magazine, Skin, Inc., Massage Therapy Journal, Massage Magazine, Massage & Bodywork, Spa Management Journal, Spa Business and Dermascope. Over her career, Felicia has won numerous awards for her business skills and accomplishments including 2005 Small Business Person of the Year from the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. Felicia makes her home in Greensboro, North Carolina. In her spare time, Felicia is a casually competitive tri-athlete and also enjoys yoga, reading, cooking, travel, and spa/travel adventures of most any sort.

Suzi Ko

Suzi Ko, LMP

Leslie Susan K. Kaiona'okal'ni Ko, is a Lomilomi, Level One and Level Two Instructor, Board Chair and Executive Director of the Holistic Honu Wellness Center. She is a traditionally trained Lomilomi practitioner, a Licensed Certified Massage Therapist, a Certified Hawaiian Healing Arts Instructor, and a National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) Continuing Education Approved Provider.

Suzi holds a Master of Business Administration degree as well as a Master of Education degree from the University of California Berkeley. She comes from a strong background in operations and human resources management in both the public and private sector and has spent twelve years as an independent business consultant.

Suzi continues to develop her healing techniques under the instruction of Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, is the lead contact and direct liaison between the wellness center and the Kupuna (elders) in Hawaii and travels extensively throughout the United States and abroad sharing her knowledge and spreading aloha.

Walt Fritz

Walt Fritz, PT

Walt Fritz is a licensed physical therapist with a B.S. in Physical Therapy and B.A. in Community Mental Health from SUNY Buffalo. He has been a physical therapist since 1985 and has taught Myofascial Release continuing education since 1995. He is proud to now lead the Foundations in Myofascial Release Seminars™, teaching therapists of all types across the country.

Moving from the outdated explanatory models of myofascial release, Walt uses more accepted, plausible neurologically-based explanations for the changes seen in myofascial release practice.
Walt also operates the Pain Relief Center, in Rochester, NY. Here he sees both local clients, as well as clients who travel from across the country with pain issues that have not resolved with other modalities.

Eric Spivack

Eric Spivack, BCTMB, LMP, EAMP, RTT

Eric Spivack, LMP, EAMP, RTT is a Registered Thai yoga massage instructor who has studied with master teachers in Thailand since 1996 and who has earned certificates from several Thai institutions. He is a nationally board certified massage therapist, an East Asian Medicine Practitioner, and a nationally Approved Provider of continuing education with the Thai Healing Alliance International and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. He is also a certified viniyoga instructor and author of several articles on Thai massage.

On numerous occasions, Eric has presented at the Washington State American Massage Therapy Association’s state convention and has taught over 500 workshops in his career.

Prior to studying massage and acupuncture, Eric earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in Environmental Science. He is an attentive instructor who brings humor and a deep passion to his work.

Douglas Nelson

Douglas Nelson, LMT, BCTMB, CNMT

Douglas Nelson is the founder of Precision NMT seminars, Doug has taught hundreds of seminars and to various populations from physician's conferences to educational seminars for lay people. Practicing massage therapy since 1977, he has studied with a host of great educators and worked in several clinical environments. He is the president of BodyWork Associates, a sixteen therapist massage therapy clinic in Champaign, IL which has been in operation since 1982.

Doug still maintains a very active practice; he doesn't just teach, he has a busy personal practice (seeing over 1,100 client visits annually); the clinic is the laboratory for the development of PNMT. Doug has treated thousands of clients over the years, from the NBA to the NFL, factory workers,and high level musicians who suffer musculoskeletal pain.

Doug is passionate about the efficacy of the work and has conducted many clinical research studies to investigate PNMT. He is a member of the International Myopain Association and the International Association for the Study of Pain and is also a regular columnist for Massage and Bodywork magazine. He is the author of Table Lessons: Insights in the Practice of Massage Therapy and The Mystery of Pain. He also contributed the chapter on fibromyalgia to the book Massage Therapy: Integrating Research and Practice.

Doug was awarded the 2013 Massage Therapy Educator of the Year from the Illinois Chapter of the AMTA. He has spoken to numerous state and national AMTA conferences, both giving workshops and keynote addresses.

Carolyn Tague

Carolyn Tague, MA, CMT

Carolyn Tague brings over 18 years of adult education and training development to her teaching and consulting work. For six years, Carolyn served as clinical faculty and supervisor in integrative medicine, specializing in massage therapy. She has trained professional CAM practitioners to work effectively and safely within a hospital setting and beyond. In addition to being clinical faculty, Carolyn served as an administrative supervisor overseeing the operation of a six-track, hospital-based integrative medicine education program in San Francisco.

Tague Consulting courses and consulting services have been provided locally, nationally, and internationally. Courses include oncology, neurological challenges, and hospital-based massage therapy. Her consulting services include policies and procedures, forms, and staff development. Carolyn works in the pain clinic at Laguna Honda Hospital, a long-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, and maintains a private practice of somatic integrative bodywork. Carolyn serves on the Hospital-Based Massage Therapy Task Force of ACIH, and the Education Committee of the Society for Oncology Massage.

Margo Bowman, LTC, EA, LMT

Margo Bowman has been a practicing accountant for over fifty-four years, specializing in small business taxation and record keeping. She is a licensed Tax Consultant (LTC) in Oregon & Enrolled Agent (EA) in IRS designation.

Margo also is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in Oregon giving her a unique insight into the needs of the massage therapy industry.

Lauren Cates

Lauren Cates, LMT

Lauren is a Virginia-based graduate of the Potomac Massage Training Institute and the Metta Institute’s End of Life Care Practitioner Program. She has had unique opportunities to train with national leaders in the field of oncology massage and end of life care and has built an intensive clinical massage therapy program at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA.

Lauren also co-founded a non-profit organization which provides clinical education for massage therapists, participates in massage therapy research and provides service to people (pediatric and adult) living with acute, chronic and terminal illness. Lauren is a certified massage therapist, Reiki practitioner and volunteer massage therapist with Capital Caring hospice. In addition to continuing education courses for massage therapists and social workers, Lauren is one of a teaching triad completed by two seasoned hospice nurses which offers workshops to educate and support caregivers of all kinds.

Anita Shannon, LMP

Anita J. Shannon is a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in skin care, body treatments, clinical Aromatherapy and various modalities of massage therapy. She has worked as a national educator since 1990, appearing at numerous national Spa and Massage conventions each year. Anita is the Director of Advanced Continuing Education (ACE), an NCBTMB CE provider established in 2001, and has presented countless workshops on ACE Massage Cupping™ and MediCupping™ at international locations since developing these brands of bodywork in 2002.

Anita has published six articles on this subject in Massage Today, Massage Magazine and Les Nouvelles Esthetiques, along with publishing five educational videos, and is currently writing a book on VacuTherapies™. Her newest efforts include the new ACE Institute and Training Center, where students can study directly with Anita while working on clients with specific conditions such as mastectomies and reconstruction, scoliosis and many more.

Joseph Muscolino

Joseph Muscolino, DC

Dr. Joseph Muscolino graduated from Western States Chiropractic College (WSCC) in Portland, Oregon with a wide breadth of assessment and treatment technique knowledge and has been in private practice as a licensed chiropractic physician since 1985. He has been teaching musculoskeletal and visceral anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, and palpation and assessment courses for 24 years. He also runs numerous advanced study workshops, including those on deep tissue, body mechanics, stretching, joint mobilization, and Anatomy in Clay®; cadaver labs; and in-services for Pilates and yoga instructors of manual and movement therapies.

He has introduced CE home study courses on muscle and bone palpation, kinesiology, and the muscular system, and has also written extensively about manual and movement therapies. He is the author of numerous articles and textbooks, including The Muscle and Bone Palpation Manual, The Muscular System Manual, and Kinesiology and currently teaches anatomy and physiology at Purchase College, SUNY. He also writes a regular column article entitled Body Mechanics for the Massage Therapy Journal and has written articles for the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies and numerous books on anatomy and kinesiology.

Olivia Hageman

Olivia is from the Bay Area of California and earned her massage certificate in 2005 from Diamond Light School of Massage and Healing Arts, Marin County, CA. Clinical training and experience includes Swedish/Esalen, Deep Tissue, Thai, and Lymphatic massage. She also practices Lomilomi style massage, which is native to Hawaii. She is a current student of Aunty Suzi, learning Lomilomi style massage in a more traditional manner. Menari Body Works is her private practice.
