Mel is recognized as one of the pioneers of massage over the last 25 years and has published several international textbooks on the subject. He has gained the most extensive clinical experience having worked with World class athletes and dancers (including the Royal Ballet in London and the Tokyo Ballet in Japan) as well as people with serious medical conditions. He is a passionate and inspiring teacher who has also presented workshops Internationally. He used to compete at a high amateur level in Marathons and Triathlons. He has written a number of books including Sport & Remedial Massage Therapy and Advanced Remedial Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy and is regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities on the subject.
The participant will use palpation to identify all the musclemain skeletal muscles of the hip, low back, and abdomen. The participant will also understand the common dysfunctional issues that can affect the muscles, and identify, through palpation and massage, specific areas of soft tissue damage. Finally the participant will apply a range of Deep Tissue Massage techniques to effectively treat all the skeletal muscles.

If approved for CE credit in your discipline and state, a minimum score of 70% is required for OT/OTA, Nurse, LTCA, and RT. A minimum score of 80% is required for SW. No minimum score is required for other disciplines unless otherwise specified within the course.
